South Suburban Chapter Pulls Out of Chicago Motorcycle Show & Parts Expo in Tinley Park.

The board of directors of South Suburban ABATE of Illinois has decided to pull its Membership booth during the
upcoming Chicago Motorcycle Show & Parts Expo to be held at the Tinley Park Convention Center this
coming weekend (2/3-2/4, 2012).  We were made aware that the bike show has been deemed
a "No Colors" event.  According to the bike show website, the no colors ban comes from the
Tinley Park Convention Center management:

NO COLORS will be permitted at the show Per the Tinley Park Convention Center

As a motorcycle rights group with a NO PROFILING bill (HB 0930) recently introduced, it puts
us in a bit of an awkward position to be a paid vendor.  We hope that in the future,
local businesses and law enforcement officials will engage us in an open dialogue
to address their concerns; instead of reacting to fears, born from negative stereotypes of riders.

Respectfully,
Eneyda Rodriguez- Public Relations Coordinator
ABATE of Illinois - South Suburban Chapter
